Mas Huni

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

• 1 can of tuna (or 200g fresh tuna, cooked and flaked)
• 1 cup grated coconut (fresh or desiccated)
• 1 medium onion, finely chopped
• 2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
• 1 small tomato, finely chopped
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice (or to taste)
• 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
• Fresh coriander or mint for garnish (optional)

Preparation

Prepare the Ingredients:

If using fresh tuna, cook and flake it. If using canned tuna, drain and flake it.
In a bowl, combine the grated coconut, finely chopped onion, green chilies, and tomato.

Mix:

Add the flaked tuna to the bowl with the other ingredients.
Add lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.

Garnish:

Garnish with fresh coriander or mint if desired.

Serve:

Serve the Mas Huni with flatbread or as a side dish. It’s commonly eaten with Maldivian roshi (flatbread) or rice.
