Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) beef or lamb, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons ground paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

Marinate the Meat

In a large bowl, combine the vegetable oil, soy sauce, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, coriander, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Add the meat cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat all pieces evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for better flavor.

Prepare the Skewers

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Thread the marinated meat onto the soaked bamboo skewers, alternating with onion and bell pepper chunks.

Grill the Brochettes

Place the skewers on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and has a nice char, about 8-10 minutes depending on the size of the meat cubes.

Serve

Remove the brochettes from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
