Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, lemon juice, ground cumin, ground coriander, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

Marinate the Prawns

Add the prawns to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.

Let the prawns marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. If you have more time, marinate for up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Grill the Prawns

Thread the prawns onto skewers for easier handling, or place them directly on the grill.

Grill the prawns for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and are opaque. Be careful not to overcook them, as prawns can become tough if grilled for too long.

Finish

Remove the prawns from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.

Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.
