Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef or lamb (preferably with some fat), cut into small cubes
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Meat

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant.

Cook the Meat

Add the beef or lamb cubes to the pan. Cook until browned on all sides.

Stir in the soy sauce, ground black pepper, salt, cumin, and paprika. Mix well to coat the meat with the seasonings.

Simmer

Add the water to the pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.

Cover the pan and let it simmer for 1-2 hours, or until the meat is tender and the flavors have melded together. Stir occasionally, and add more water if necessary to keep the meat moist.

Serve

Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Enjoy your meal!
