Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) beef or lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)
  • Skewers (metal or soaked wooden skewers)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine vegetable oil, cumin, paprika, coriander, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).

Add lemon juice and mix well.

Marinate the Meat

Add the meat cubes to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

Assemble the Skewers

Thread the marinated meat cubes onto the skewers, alternating with onion and bell pepper chunks.

Grill the Brochettes

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Place the skewers on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness, about 10-15 minutes.

Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.
