Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a medium pot, combine the rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the water is absorbed.
In a small bowl, mix the ground peanuts (or peanut butter) with the sugar and salt. If using coconut milk, add it to this mixture.
Once the rice is cooked, stir in the peanut mixture. Mix well to combine and ensure that the peanut mixture is evenly distributed throughout the rice.
Let the Kondowole sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
