Ingredients

  • 4 whole fish (such as snapper or tilapia), cleaned and scaled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Fish

Rinse the fish under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme (if using).

Dredge the Fish

Coat each fish thoroughly with the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Fry the Fish

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the fish to the skillet. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is golden brown and crispy. The fish should be cooked through and have an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Remove the fish from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Serve

Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh cilantro or parsley.

Enjoy your meal!
