Ingredients

  • 1 ripe breadfruit (about 2 pounds or 900 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Breadfruit

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Cut the breadfruit in half and remove the core and seeds. Peel the skin off the breadfruit and cut it into chunks or slices.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the breadfruit pieces and cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until tender. Drain the breadfruit and let it cool slightly.

Season and Cook

In a large bowl, toss the breadfruit pieces with vegetable oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder (if using) until evenly coated.

Spread the seasoned breadfruit pieces on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the breadfruit is golden brown and crispy on the edges. Flip the pieces halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
