In a large bowl, combine the rye flour, dark molasses, and brown sugar. Mix well.
In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Gradually pour the hot water into the flour mixture, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
Stir in the ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
Pour the mixture into a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan (about 10-15 minutes).
Preheat your oven to 300째F (150째C).
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish or ovenproof dish. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until set and firm.
Allow the M채mmi to cool completely before serving. It is traditionally served cold.
