Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated green plantains
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (optional, for binding)

Instructions

Prepare Plantains

Peel and grate the green plantains into a fine texture.

Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the grated plantains, grated coconut, sugar, salt, and optional spices (cinnamon and nutmeg).

Bind Mixture (Optional)

If the mixture feels too loose, add the all-purpose flour a little at a time until the mixture can be formed into small cakes.

Shape Titiri

Shape the mixture into small round or oval cakes, about the size of a small patty.

Cook

Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the Titiri cakes until they are golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Drain

Place the cooked Titiri on paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Serve
