Rinse the dried mopane worms under cold water.
Soak them in warm water for about 30 minutes, then drain.
Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add the bell pepper and chopped tomato, cooking until softened.
Stir in the paprika, ground cumin, ground coriander, and chili powder (if using).
Add the soaked mopane worms and cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are well-cooked and have absorbed the flavors.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
